8 ways to find your Bumble match’s social media accounts

Being worried for our safety after meeting someone on a dating site is part of our nature—it’s a rather smart reaction that has kept us distanced from harm.

And no matter how safe Bumble advertises itself to be, you should ALWAYS verify a match’s identity.

Social media is a great start: you can find a Bumble user’s social media profiles through reverse searching!

If your desire to find their social media accounts is coming from a place of fear, then congratulations. You are a mindful online dater!

Safety should be your #1 priority on dating apps, but you can’t always know who’s hiding behind a Bumble profile.

Taking all of this into account, I will be sharing with you a couple of safety tips for when you meet someone you like on Bumble.

Talk with only verified matches.

Talk with only verified matches verified matches

Bumble has created photo verification with its users’ best interest in mind. When someone wants to make a profile, they’re asked to verify their identity.

If you match with someone who is not verified, click on ‘Ask [person] to verify their profile’ at the top of the chat.

Educate yourself on fake Bumble profiles.

It helps to know what a fraud acts like, so be on the lookout for red flags only fake Bumble profiles would show. Examples would be:

  • Non-verified users;
  • Users who act overly sexual;
  • Profiles that are empty;
  • People who ask personal questions, and so on.

Don’t rush into anything with them.

Don’t rush to go out on dates with someone you practically know nothing about; don’t give out any sensitive information either.

You should talk for a while until you have a better picture of their personality.

Search for them on social media.

When in doubt, attempt to find their social media profiles to see if they’re a safe individual!

Bumble gives us plenty of clues on how to search a user’s socials, and that’s exactly what we’ll talk about now.

1. Read their Bumble bio for any social media handles.

Read their Bumble bio for any social media handles

Dating app users sometimes leave their handles on their bios because they want to increase their social media following.

Though not everyone does this, you can check if your matches have linked their Instagram, Facebook, or Snapchat accounts on their Bumble bio.

2. Google their name!

I’m sure you know at least their name, in which case you can Google it to see if any social media accounts show up.

For instance, if you’re searching for an ‘Ethan’, you can type in something like, ‘Instagram.com Ethan’, to see every IG user with that name.

We should get some fairly satisfying results if our Ethan isn’t catfishing us on Bumble

  • Scroll through the results and see if you can find them. Finding them is going to be easier if their profile is verified, which means they are using their real selfies.

3. Reverse image search their photos on Bumble.

If this person has linked their Facebook and/or Instagram to their Bumble account, their images are most likely the same.

If so, you can use our reverse image search tool, SwindlerBuster, to find the very same social media profiles.

It’s quick and easy. Let’s face it, no one is trying to wait while their life could be potentially in danger.

You just save their videos from Bumble, click on ‘Choose File’ on SwindlerBuster, and press the ‘Search Face’ button.

4. Directly search on social media platforms.

Directly search on social media platforms

Facebook and Instagram are your keys here. Forget Snapchat if you want to learn more about your Bumble match!

These two platforms contain valuable, personal information that’ll help you assess how dangerous someone is.

On Instagram, look their name up and scroll through the results to find this person; as for Facebook, it’s a little different.

Yeah, you can also type their first and last name, but I strongly urge you to use Facebook’s filters as well:

  • After typing their name into Facebook’s search bar, go to People, and specify as much as possible.

5. Do you know their phone number? Let me show you a little trick.

Do you know their phone number Let me show you a little trick

If, by chance, this Bumble user told you their actual phone number, save it.

“Why?”, you might be asking…well, because doing so will allow you to find their social media accounts by phone only!

Give this a try:

Save their phone number to your contact list. After that, go to Instagram and allow access to your contacts. Exit Instagram and re-enter again to see if your Bumble match’s IG profile gets suggested to you.

You can do the same with Facebook and Snapchat.

6. Check their work page IF they have one.

Many companies advertise their business through social media presence—talk about working smarter, not harder!

So, if you were to hypothetically know where they work, you could find their profile by visiting their company’s official page.

For instance, let’s say they’re a professor at a specific university, in which case you can either:

a) Check the university’s official Instagram page;

b) Or check the official university website.

7. Look up their favorite artists too.

This method is not all that reliable, but you can try investigating your Bumble match’s favorite artists’ Facebook and Instagram pages too.

  • Browse through their likes and comments to see if you can find them there. Don’t forget to check the following list too.

It may work, it may not—what’s important is that it’s free!

8. Very respectfully ask for their social media.

If your goal is to get to know them better, tell them that! I am sure they’d understand why you’re being cautious.

However, I advise you to do this only if you’ve been talking on Bumble for a while and have formed some sort of connection.

Otherwise, they might feel suspicious of your motives.

Attempting to find someone from Bumble on social media: Should you do it?

No one wants their privacy violated, which is why you need to take a step back and reflect.

“Would my looking for them outside of Bumble make them feel uncomfortable?

Do this if…

If you’re simply trying to identify they’re a real person as a safety precaution, then by all means!

You’re not thinking of reaching out to them or anything—it’s simply something you’re doing to put your mind at ease.

Don’t do this if…

So, there are a couple of instances when going out of your way to find a Bumble user’s socials is a bit…wrong.

For one, don’t do this if they feel uncomfortable. Many people are putting their safety in jeopardy by being on dating apps.

Another instance would be trying to find them although knowing they are not interested in you.

Definitely don’t snoop around if they rejected you, and you’re hoping to change their mind.
